Peter Okoye has come forward to issue a disclaimer about a concert he was allegedly supposed to be a part of in Congo. The concert was a PSquare concert and according to reports Peter Okoye was unable to attend because of health issue.

Peter Okoye has however come forward to say that he was never aware of the concert and that he has been misrepresented by his twin brother and former manager. According to him, he is 101% healthy and plans to seek legal representation over this matter.

See what he wrote below.

DISCLAIMER

This goes out to all my Fans in Congo Specifically and the entire world in General.
My attention has been drawn to a much publicized show holding today 8th July, 2016 (VIP SHOW) and tomorrow 9th July, 2016, (in Goma) and on the 17th of August in Kinshasa wherein the name Psquare was used maliciously and mischievously to garner patronage and huge fans attendance as against the stage name Rudeboy which is used when my Twin Brother, Paul, and Co-owner of the stage name Psquare performs alone.

I never endorsed the usage of my name as the contractual terms presented were not favourable to me, thus I am not part of the show booked by our former manager Jude and I wholeheartedly disassociate myself from the unauthorized use of my Co-owned stage name (Psquare) and images for promotional and economic reasons without my express written consent or permission.
Contrary to the wild allegations making the rounds that I could not attend the show because I am sick and missed my flight along with my crew members, I wish to counter same and state categorically, that I am 101% healthy.

I shall take appropriate legal actions in the nearest future against the promoters and the sponsors of these events @airtel_congob for character assassination and malicious misrepresentation.

Thank you.

MR.P (Peter of Psquare)

Concern Over Rising Cases Of Theft Of Selected Human Parts At Cemetaries In Kwara State

Cemeteries in Kwara State are now being regularly violated by robbers and scavengers targeting bodies in graves for mutilation and theft of choice parts, The Guardian Nigeria reports.
According to the report, digging up fresh graves in Ilorin, Kwara State has become a daily occurence. The criminals mostly go for selected body parts such as genitalia, skulls, heart, liver and whatever else they may fancy in the decomposing body.
Sources told The Guardian, Muslim cemeteries at Oseere and public cemeteries at Oke-Oyi, a sleepy settlement adjoining Ilorin from the east, are the worst hit.
"We took the remains of a brother to the cemetery early this month and laid him to rest according to the Islamic rites. But when we returned to the grave two days after with the aim of putting concrete on the tomb, to our surprise we met a dismembered body outside the grave," a source told The Guardian in Ilorin.
Another source said:
"At Oke-Oyi, we went to pray at the tomb of our departed mother barely a year after her death only to see bits of the wooden casket on the tomb rather than inside the grave suggesting that some people might have tampered with the remains after burial."
Former Secretary of Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) Dr. Olusola Ajolore urged the government especially local councils, to intensify efforts at providing adequate security at the cemeteries in Kwara State.
"Apart from profaning the cemeteries, the act should be seen as criminal and ungodly. But we need more security at the cemeteries to stem the vice."
On his part, the Chief Imam of Ilorin, Alhaji Mohammed Bashir cautioned those directly or indirectly stealing from the cemeteries to refrain "as such would not escape God’s judgment in the long run even if law enforcement agents fail to arrest them and bring them to book."

Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) in Kwara, Ajayi Okasanmi said they have not received any such report but however, urged members of the public to volunteer information to the Police on the vice just as he threatened that local security guards employed to keep watch may henceforth be prosecuted for any recorded theft at the cemeteries.

David Oyelowo Launches Scholarship With Support From Oprah Winfrey To Educate Victimised Nigerian Girls

British-Nigerian actor David Oyelowo encouraged the creation of a scholarship to aid girls who have been terrorized and disadvantaged by gender inequality in Nigeria.
The GEANCO Foundation has announced the first ever David Oyelowo Leadership Scholarship for Girls to help victimized young girls get an education. Many Nigerian girls are raped, kidnapped and if they make it back home, shunned by their families.
"We cannot stand idly by while thousands of innocent girls remain under serious threat," Oyelowo in a press release. "With our help, these bright and resilient girls can blossom into Nigeria’s most inspiring leaders in government, education, business, entertainment, and so much more. The way to combat oppression and injustice is to be intentional in calling it out and then seeking to affect sustainable and long-term change. That is what these Leadership scholarships are all about. We seek to nurture a generation of strong female trailblazers whose positive impact will be felt across Nigeria and around the world."
The 40-year-old award-winning actor and producer has long supported GEANCO. He was honored for his commitment to providing Nigerian youth with educational opportunities in 2015.

His commitment extends further with the Leadership scholarship. It will have initial financial support from famous sources. They include Oyelowo’s wife Jessica, Oprah Winfrey and pro football Hall of Fame quarterback Warren Moon. Capital group Janus Funds and entertainment company Participant Media will also fund the grant. Additionally, the actor will actively participate in providing funding, administration and promotion for the grant.

Three leadership scholarships will be provided for the 2016-2017 school year. Offers for subsequent years will be determined by the amount available and total funding received. Anglican Girls Grammar School in Abuja, Nigeria will educate this year’s recipients. The all-girls boarding school emphasizes science and math in its courses. It also provides a safe, nurturing environment for students. Other renowned schools will be chosen for future scholarship recipients.
