Suspect Confesses To Stealing N2.7m From 80-Year-Old Woman To Process His Travelling Documents.

A suspect who allegedly conned an 80-year-old woman out of N2.7 million has confessed to having used the money to process his travelling documents to South Africa, Vanguard reports.
Ayokunle Ibikunle, 34 , a graduate of Animal Health and Reproduction at Federal College of Animal Health, Ibadan, Oyo State, said:
"I used N750, 000 from the money to process my travelling documents. I wanted to travel to South Africa. Unfortunately, it didn’t work out. After it failed, I gave N400, 000 cash to Kasali to supply me cattle to enable me begin a little ranch, while I used the remaining money miscellaneous things like travelling to Abuja, Lagos and staying in hotels."
It was gathered Mrs Felicia Oketokun, popularly called Mama in Ibadan, a poultry farm produce dealer received a call from the suspect who claimed he had 3,000 poultry birds for sale at Seion Farms in Olorunda, Ibadan.
"After negotiations, Mrs Oketokun sent one of her workers to Seion’s Farms where he met with Ayo and inspected the birds. After inspecting the birds and certifying them okay for purchase, Oketokun’s staffer was said to have requested for Seion Farms account details to enable his boss make payment for the poultry birds. But the suspect allegedly convinced him to pay the money into the bank account of his friend, Saeed. It was gathered that immediately after Mama Oketokun paid N2.7M in the said account for the birds, Ayo went with Saeed and withdrew the entire money without giving the money to Seion Farms or supplying the products to the victim. Thereafter, he went underground, living largely in hotels in Ibadan, Abuja and Lagos".
He was consequently arrested on March 29, 2016 at Ibadan after operatives of X-Squad tracked him down. Narrating his story to Sunday Vanguard, the suspect said:
"I am from Ekiti State but I am based in Ibadan. I was arrested because I took N2.7M from a client. I knew her through an agent. I used to buy and sell old layers, boilers, point of lay and other kinds of poultry bird. I help farm owners to treat their sick birds. I have been in this business for over eight years. I studied animal health and reproduction at Federal College of Animal Health, Ibadan.
"I didn’t take her money intentionally. I paid Saeed N500, 000 to allow me use his bank account for the transaction as I didn’t want to use my personal account. He withdrew N2m for me and later gave me N200,000. He knew the money was from the proceeds of fraudulent transaction. I used N750,000 from the money to process my travelling documents as I wanted to travel to South Africa.
"Unfortunately, it didn’t work out; so I gave N400,000 cash to an acquaintance, Kasali, to supply me cattle to begin my cattle farm, while I spent the balance on miscellaneous things like travelling and staying in hotels."
"Although I have not seen her before now, this is not the first time I am doing transaction with Mama. Usually, we do transactions and negotiations on phone. When I saw Mama yesterday for the first time, I started weeping because I didn’t know she was very old. I know what I did is wrong. I feel very bad now that I have been arrested. Contrary to the allegation that I defrauded my fiancĂ©’s father, I did not. We only had some business transaction that went sour"

Woman's Butt Explodes ....

A 19-year-old young man, Sean Williams, burst the buttocks of his 26-year-old older lover, Tamela Martin, during s3x.

Radar Online reports that Tamela was reported to have called 911 after Sean made her butts to explode while they were having s3x doggy style. Recounting the experience, she said:

“We was doing it and then he flipped me over and began to tear it up from the back. Asked him several times to be gentle, then I began to beg him to stop. That’s when he started going harder. I felt pressure building up in my booty and it felt like my booty was trippling in size, I felt the skin stretching. It was a pain I never experienced.”
Tamela who recently got butt enlargement injections was rushed to Grady Memorial Hospital after 911 got to the scene of the accident. Williams is however being charged with assault as they claim he ignored her pleas to stop during s3x and is therefore culpable.

You Are An Expired Politician, Ekiti Assembly Tells Olowoporoku

The Ekiti State House of Assembly has described the remarks by former Minister of Science and Technology, Dr Bode Olowoporoku, that the House has only one university graduate as member as not only spurious, but one that came from the mouth of an expired politician like the former Second Republic minister.
In a statement in Ado-Ekiti on Sunday by the Speaker, Rt. Hon. (Pastor) Kola Oluwawole, the Assembly said Olowoporoku, despite his academic prowess, was only known for rebellion and formenting trouble.
Oluwawole, in the statement signed by his Special Assistant (Media), Stephen Gbadamosi, said the former senator had been confined to the dustbin of history in the state’s political firmament and that he was only seeking relevance.
"While we are not conceding to the thoughtless statement, let us assume it is true; how can there be only one graduate in an Assembly where you have a medical doctor, two seasoned journalists, a cleric, retired top civil servants, among others.
“The beauty of democracy is that these so-called illiterates were voted into office by the people of the state who had earlier rejected people like Olowoporoku.
"The same people recently took the invasion of their offices and the detention of a colleague to the court of public opinion and they impressed all. Olowoporoku never found his voice then. He is broke and he is a spent force. Olowoporoku is a rebel and he was among those who created the political chaos in 1983 in the old Ondo State.
"Those who know his background know that his sanity is questionable. Senility has already set in for him, but we don't want to help wash his dirty linen in public. He has spent his life in rebellion.
“The Assembly members he is castigating were voted into office by the people of Ekiti State, the same people who rejected him. He is probably broke and looking for relevance as well as somebody who will grease his palms," the statement read.
The Speaker added that no amount of distraction would make supporters of Ayo Fayose to dump him, saying “he is a God’s project that no human can truncate. The authority of all elected officials, including Fayose, is from God Almighty. If Olowoporoku still wants to contest in an election at over 80 years, or he is sponsoring his son, he is welcome. We think he needs attention and he will get none.”

FG Imposing More Hardships On Nigeria With VAT Increment - Fayose

Read the press statement below...
Ekiti State Governor, Mr Ayodele Fayose has said that the Federal Government was planning to impose more hardships on Nigerians by increasing Value Added Tax (VAT) from the current five per cent to 10 per cent, describing the move as insensitive to the plight of Nigerians who are suffering from the bad economic policies of the President Mohammadu Buhari led All Progressives Congress (APC) government.
Vice President Yemi Osinbajo had said on Thursday, in Lagos that the current five per cent VAT rate in the country was very low, and went on to add that the Federal Government would increase the taxpayer base this year. Reacting through his Special Assistant on Public Communications and New Media, Lere Olayinka, Governor Fayose said any increment in VAT or any other tax being paid by Nigerians at this time will further make life unbearable for the people.

“Nigerians are suffering and the little that they have, federal government is planning to take back through VAT increment, this is wickedness! “Under three months, electricity tariff was increased despite epileptic power supply, N50 stamp duty was imposed on bank customers for money received into their accounts via electronic transfer, cash and cheques; petrol is being sold for as high as N400 per litre and now they are talking about increasing VAT to 10 per cent, this is the height of insensitivity to the plight of Nigerians,” he said.

The governor, who lamented the increase in the cost of living of Nigerians, occasioned by the bad economic policies of the Federal Government, said “even recent figures from the National Bureau of Statistics (NBS) revealed that prices of food have hit a record high and inflation is worsening.

“How can government be considering 100 per cent increment in VAT when businesses are folding up, prices of essential commodities have skyrocketed, millions of Nigerians are losing their jobs and those who are still employed are no longer getting paid regularly? “For even contemplating the increment of VAT at this difficult time shows that the Buhari-led government does not care about the welfare of the citizens and only God will save the poor masses from the hands of this government.”

Governor Fayose said rather than imposing more hardships on Nigerians, President Buhari should seek help from experts on how best to revive the country’s economy, adding that; “As at today, the Buhari-led government is yet to show that it has any clue to the revival of the economy.”

Speaking at the ceremony, Dangote said that the project will meet local demands for cement, as well as surplus for export and foreign exchange generation. He also urged other investors to look at other investment opportunities in Nigeria, saying the Federal government have created investor friendly policies to boost investments.

He also said that economic reforms in the areas of tax, innovations in rural finance, and investment in infrastructure made him invest in the state.

Gov. Adams Oshiomhole of Edo State said that the investment will reduce the state’s dependence on federal allocation and boosts its internally generated revenue.

The Monarch of Okpella, Alhaji Yusuf Dirisu also pledged support from his community while commending the commitment of the Dangote Group to the establishment of the plant.

Another Desperate Memo To President Buhari - By Dele Momodu

As culled from his newspaper The Boss Newspaper. Read below...
Your Excellency, Assalam Alaikum. It has been over six months since you graciously invited me to your office in Abuja. I must note once again that I was truly honoured and humbled by our one-on-one meeting. We spoke and interacted like two old buddies. What was more, I was all alone with you without a third party in the room. We spoke candidly and cracked jokes freely.
I remember presenting you with an advance copy of my forthcoming book and you even requested me to autograph it for you which I did with such pride and gratitude in me. We took loads of pictures before and after the meeting. I left you reassured in my belief that Nigeria is in safe hands.

Sir, a lot has happened since that meeting took place. In fact, so much water has passed under the bridge. Let me take you down memory lane a bit. You started contesting the Presidential election as far back as 2003. For three consecutive times, you lost and it seemed all hope had evaporated. In 2011, we were co-contestants.

I was driven to your house one night by Prince Lanre Tejuoso (now a Senator) who wanted me to tone down my criticism of you and opposition to your candidacy. I was totally disarmed by your humility and simplicity. You spoke softly and candidly. I felt you were too old to return to a post you left nearly 30 years ago but you were certain you still have so much in you to offer Nigeria.

The Jonathan government that won the election at that time was ushered in with so much hope and promise. After that election, you said that you would never seek elective office again. After three arduous attempts, you must have felt it was all a bloody waste of time seeking an opportunity to rebuild an irredeemable country that seemed determined to be plunged into the abyss by those you were convinced did not mean well for the country.

But the government that promised us fresh air soon lost its sail and floundered aimlessly. It wobbled and fumbled till it became obvious that something had to be done to avert a monumental catastrophe, the kind that you had foreseen. The situation became so bad that most of us were left with no choice but to see you as our only God-sent redeemer.

This was how the stone previously and repeatedly rejected by the builders suddenly transfigured into the much needed cornerstone. Your most caustic critics soon became your ardent fanatics. We were hypnotised and mesmerised by your new look.

You were repackaged as a reformed and born again democrat. We studiously ignored your military credentials and dictatorial proclivity. The young and old screamed your name from the rooftops. Many youths were ready to march for you and even die in the process.

The last time we witnessed such a phenomenon was in 1993 when Chief Moshood Abiola contested and won the June 12 Presidential election which was later annulled by your former colleagues in the army.

You and your political party enjoyed a whirlwind romance with Nigerians. The covenant was based on mutual trust and the hope that you had robust knowledge of Nigerian history as well as vast experience in governance. Your avowed integrity was the icing on the cake. We expected you to inspire us as a veritable example of honesty-personified. The election came and you won almost effortlessly. What mattered to us was for someone to liberate and remove us from the suffocating yoke of the PDP. You looked the perfect man to do it.

Of course, to whom much is given much is expected. The burden of proof and expectation hung around your neck like an albatross. Soon, it seemed Nigerians thought and assumed that they had voted for a magician and so expected miracles to happen instantaneously. Trouble started very early. You inherited a government with plummeting revenues as the crude oil which greased the economy had suffered a massive collapse in price thus emasculating our country’s fortune and reserves. In addition, just before you returned to power the outgoing government had twice devalued the Naira leaving you with a currency that was set for free fall. In short the Government that you assumed control of was one which was like a disaster waiting to happen.

Nigerians are generally impatient. We are action-packed and expect talismanic results. Unfortunately that has not happened and is not likely to happen soon no matter how hard you try. Sir, let me stop the introduction and go straight to the crux of the matter. While I do not want to sound like a doomsday prophet, I wish to alert you that there is fire on the mountain.

This is not a subtle or covert attempt to create any panic. As a war General, I’m certain you have enough liver to withstand shock. But what I wish to say without mincing words is that we are yielding grounds to the enemies. Hard core supporters of your campaign like me are being derided by those who feel you are not living up to expectations. I know your handlers are likely to dismiss this as crying wolf where there is none but please, don’t listen to them.

The situation is very critical and may even get out of hand if not carefully and delicately managed. You are going to be told the usual tales and rigmarole of how corruption is fighting back. Yes, perhaps corruption is fighting back truly but it is because you did not prepare adequately for the backlash. The style and manner of the war you are waging has not been novel. The approach has been a rehash of the Obasanjo era with Nuhu Ribadu in charge.

What would I have done differently if I were you? I would have traced and located the loot as much as possible before launching my attack. Surprise is one of the most effective weapons of war. And you are without doubt an accomplished General. It is only in Nigeria that investigators announce in advance who the next set of villains they are coming after will be. I would have gone to the courts to seek permission to freeze the looted funds.

Thereafter, I would have asked my operatives to show evidence of the identified perpetrators and located the looters and ask for their cooperation in gently signing the purloined money back to the State without hullabaloo. I will then exchange a grudging handshake and tell them to sin no more. Those who wish to be difficult would be treated like hardened criminals and the full weight of the law would descend powerfully on such recalcitrant fellows. I would have kept the promise you made prior to assumption of office of drawing the line after being sworn in on May 29 and punish any fresh acts of rascality and irresponsibility.

I will ensure there is a uniform treatment for all Nigerians, rich or poor, members of my party and others. I will avoid anything that would suggest I’m principally after my perceived enemies and opponents. I will not create tension and confusion within my own party and accept the verdict of the people in their collective wisdom or stupidity. A house divided against itself cannot stand, I read in the Holy Bible.

I would also make sure that as much as possible I would internalise the process and not wash the country’s dirty linen in public. Such tactics only tends to frighten away those who would assist us and make life unbearable for our citizens abroad. If we require assistance from other countries to repatriate our looted resources I would have engaged the leaders of those countries privately and sought their co-operation surreptitiously. I would have realised that even if they desired to assist my government they would be hampered by the rule of law enshrined in their respective jurisdictions and recourse would be required to the judicial process in those countries.

My silent approach to the recovery of the looted funds would also ensure that the expectations of the people of this country would not be unnecessarily heightened. The money Abacha pillaged is still being recovered in staccato and stuttering fashion almost 20 years after his death.

It is important for you to realise that corruption will fester and even explode when it is incubated in an economy approaching a comatose state as people seek to survive by all means possible.
I will therefore make the economy my utmost priority. Trust me Sir, as important as the war against corruption is wonderful, it pales into irrelevance and insignificance where hunger, deprivation, poverty, unemployment, poor education, ignorance, diseases, insecurity of lives and properties and other complications are concerned.

Many people are going to hail you for arresting the thieves but the same people will soon turn around to attack you when they can’t feel the effect of the war positively on their bodies and souls. In case you are shielded from reading the comments making the rounds, let me inform you Sir, that people are already saying they would rather have corruption back, out of the desperation and suffering they are going through. And these are not the so-called looters but the ordinary Nigerians.

Nothing illustrates this more poignantly than the video posted by Instablog9ja on Instagram and other social media platforms yesterday showing a man that looks like a taxi driver being interviewed. The man said he is so frustrated that he wants Nigeria to perish and all of us with it instantaneously. He wished that we all die simultaneously, at once and suddenly.

The clip has already gone viral globally. Therefore, if anyone tells you only the elites are grumbling, they are telling you a blatant lie, Sir.
The poor who were your best friends and biggest supporters appear totally confused, disillusioned and ostensibly tired of the endless excuses coming out of your Administrations spokespeople. I read somewhere that your foot-soldiers will soon embark on town hall meetings but I can assure you it won’t achieve anything. Why do you want to engage in campaign after election?

Some expert scammers would just collect money for these jamborees. Nigerians want positive change and not a cacophony of lies bandied at stage managed, hurriedly assembled meetings populated by sycophants and glory hunters. They are ready to sacrifice but not when they think things are going from bad to worse. There is so much to do but without an agile economy nothing tangible can be achieved. The economy itself cannot be fixed in an atmosphere of permanent strife.

One year will soon pass by next month and a second year shall begin. It is time to bite the bullet and take the economy head on. Forget about all distractions and concentrate on what really matters to the generality of our people. You will find out that once the economy is tamed all else will follow suit and the successes that you crave in your corruption crusade will start being manifested.

I pray you will hearken to my humble advice and concentrate your energy on resurrecting the economy instead of embarking on a war of attrition. You will be judged ultimately by the comfort you bring to your people and not the self-immolating pain you inflict on real and imaginary enemies.
May Allah grant you the wisdom of Nelson Mandela who chose the path of reconciliation and national rebirth above the tempting choice of prolonging the horror of racial segregation.

My warmest regards to you and yours always.
I remain yours sincerely.

Man Went 'Crazy' In Anambra, He Threw His Mother Into A Well Then Threw Bricks Into The Well To Ensure Her Death

A man identified as Ejike Nwankwo Ohagba from Ezigbo village, Igbo-Ukwu community, Aguata Local Government Area of Anambra State on Thursday, April 7, went crazy and threw his mother into an abandoned well in his father’s compound. He then threw blocks into the well to kill her.

According to Anambra State news, the 30-year-old suspect had earlier in September 2015 allegedly killed two of his siblings in the same well, set his family house ablaze and disappeared only to reappear last week to kill his mother.

"The suspect’s mother, late Mrs Christiana Nwankwo Ohagba, a widow, took off from where she was taking refuge since her family house was burnt to do some farming with a 14-year old boy, Chiemerie at the family compound. Meanwhile, the source said, the suspect was hiding somewhere within the compound, with his mother completely unaware of the danger lurking around the premises."

Chiemerie spotted the suspect and alerted the deceased. Chiemerie escaped but unfortunately, the deceased could not as the suspect attacked her, Sunday Sun reports.

"After wrestling with him to free herself in vain, she was thrown into the well by the suspect who went ahead to gather blocks and started throwing them into the well to ensure that she did not survive. They said it was Chiemerie who reported the attack on them to other members of the community after running for a distance from the scene of the incident. But before help could come, the widow was already dead in the well and the suspect had varnished again. Police and the local vigilante were invited to help and bring out her body from the well."

The traditional ruler of Igbo-Ukwu community, Igwe Martin Eze, Idu of Igbo-Ukwu, who confirmed the tragic incident said he was shocked, adding that the case has been reported to the police.

While urging the federal and state governments to set up rehabilitation centres in many communities where people could be rehabilitated when they begin to exhibit unusual behaviour, he also said that jobs should be created to get the youths employed to reduce the level of hardship which he noted was responsible for increase in crime in the society.

When contacted, the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Mr Ali Okechukwu, a Deputy Superintendent of Police said he was yet to confirm the incident.

Meet The 22-Year-Old Nigerian Studying In Ukraine Who Effectively Combines Medical Studies With A Budding Fashion Enterprise

There are not many entrepreneurs who have to combine work with the rigours of higher institution but 22-year-old Ugwuonah Chinemerem takes it all in her stride .The 5th year medical student seamlessly blends her hair stylist business with studies at the Lviv National Medical University. Smart, pretty and confident, she is very much her own boss.

What was just a talent is now a lucrative source of income for her, she has always had a thing for it. She started out by styling her younger sisters for which her parents sometimes paid her, while in boarding school, peers will book her services in advance.

She didn't see it as a regular source of income at first until 2014 when friends convinced her to build her own brand. She set up Purple Dine and things took off from there.  Orders for her wigs and services come from Nigeria, Ukraine and the UK, and sometimes she travels for work, styling brides and guests for weddings and events.

Single and not searching is how she puts it, hear her: "I'm meant to be searched for, I do the choosing not the searching", doesn't come as a surprise, for a young determined woman like her, only the best will do.

When asked what privileges come with being her own boss, her answer is unequivocal, "independence".
