20 Year Old Model Jumps Naked From A Skyscraper Building And Died Rather Than Been Raped By Two Men

20 year old model and university student named Gulay Bursali, jumped naked from a Skyscraper Istanbul apartment where she was staying with her boyfriend, to escape being raped by an estate agent who rented them the flat, alongside his friend.

Gulay Bursali and her boyfriend  had asked a property agent if there was an empty apartment they could rent for the weekend, and were given the keys to a property in Basaksehir, a district located on the European side of Istanbul. But after partying with friends in a local bar, they had gone back to the flat where they ended up being attacked by the estate agent.

According to the boyfriend’s statement to police, the estate agent had tricked his way inside by claiming he wanted to get some things from the apartment.

Once inside, the estate agent and a friend beat him up, took his phone and locked him inside one of the rooms. They then locked the young woman in another room, and stripped her naked before she managed to open the window and climbed outside, threatening to jump unless they let her go.

Eyewitnesses said they had seen the naked young woman hanging out of the window.
One man told local TV:
"I heard somebody screaming help, and I thought maybe it was just someone messing around. Then I saw a naked girl hanging out of the window.
"She was yelling don't pull me inside, if you try to pull me inside I will jump. Those inside were shouting at her to come inside, saying they were going to call the police.
"But she wasn't interested, I heard her threaten them two more times to say that she would jump, and was calling for somebody to help.
"I didn't say anything, I felt if she moved even a bit she was going to fall and that was why I didn't say anything. I just called the police. While I was doing that, she jumped."
The boyfriend who was freed from the flat and quizzed has now been released and police are looking for the estate agent and his friend.

Below is a photo of the building she jumped from

Chanel Chin, the daughter of Jamaican raggae star, Ludlow Chin also known as Bobo Zaro is the queen of the Iwo Kingdom following her marriage to King Adbul Rasheed Adewale Akanbi earlier this year.

King Abdul Rasheed, now known as the Imperial Oluwo of the Iwo Kingdom in Osun State, after his ascendancy on November 10, 2015, had met the 32-year-old woman in Canada, where he resided before his ascension.

Bobo Zaro is known for songs such as the hit single Pain, a collaboration with Contractor and Capleton, the video of which has been seen by millions of viewers in Africa via Channel O in South Africa and the Sporah TV show via SkyTV.

In an interview with The Jamaica Gleaner, Queen Chin reveals that she is very honoured to represent Jamaica in such a big way.

"My ancestors were taken away as slaves, but I have returned to Africa as a queen. One's destiny cannot be altered. As a young child, I always wanted to come to Africa, but didn't know how. I feel this is a great opportunity for black people worldwide to return to their home."

In a Facebook post, Emmanuel Mathias, in support of the queen, declared:
"Destiny is powerful, her ancestor was taken away as slave, but she return back home as queen. Let us embrace her and tell her you are welcome back home. This is one giant step towards bringing back home our descendants that great fathers and mothers were casted away."

The queen added: "Our forefathers and ancestral mothers were cast away as slaves to never return, but I want Jamaicans everywhere to know that Africa is so nice. The culture and traditions are so rich and lovely. It's truly something every black person should come and experience."

Chanel explained that as queen of Iwo land, her responsibility is to always set a proper example for young girls and women in the community. Giving an insight into traditions and customs, she said her dressing and outfits are to always be conservative and respectful.

"No matter what I wear, my shoulders and full legs must be covered at all times. All of my clothes are custom made to match these requirements. Also, as queen, the king and I like to regularly visit the local schools in the community to remind the children of the importance of education and excelling in all areas of their school work and examinations."

The queen said her husband is the first king to actually take the time to visit the children.

"We believe they are the future," she remarked.

In her esteemed position as a Nigerian queen, she said she faces only minor challenges one of which is her being not fluent in the native language which is Yoruba.

"I know some words. Everyday, I am still learning. Another challenge is that the food is quite different from our mouth- watering Jamaican dishes."

Lagos State Govt Clarifies Position On Last Saturday Environmental Sanitation Exercise

Read the press statement below...
The Lagos State Government has clarified reports making rounds on social media that the monthly environmental sanitation in the State has been outlawed, saying that the policy on the monthly exercise has not been reviewed for now. In a statement signed by the Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Mr. Steve Ayorinde, the government said the erroneous story which was attributed to the State’s Commissioner for the Environment, Dr. Babatunde Adejare was inaccurate.
Ayorinde said that Dr. Adejare was misquoted out of context when he indicated that the restriction of movement may be dispensed with, he did not in any way suggest that the monthly sanitation had been outlawed.

Ayorinde said, “While Dr. Adejare did meet with journalists today and indicated that the restriction of movement every last Saturday of the month would ultimately be dispensed with, he did not say the monthly sanitation exercise would no longer hold in Lagos.

“The last two sanitation exercises could not hold due to the JAMB examination in February and the Easter celebration in March. Nevertheless, the Lagos state government had always encouraged residents to clean their environment and observe hygienic behaviors, without necessarily having to shut the state down.

“It is the wish of Lagos State government to ensure that every part of the state is clean with wastes properly disposed and this will always involve a concerted effort on the part of the government and citizens alike. “However, while it may become necessary in the near future to observe this clean-up exercise regularly without having to restrict vehicular movement, we wish to clarify that the monthly environmental exercise is still in force in Lagos State for now”.

Sunderland Sack Emmanuel Eboue 3weeks After Signing Him After Been Banned By FIFA

Sunderland football club in it's bid to stay away from another controversy after the Adam Johnson saga, has moved swiftly to sack Ivory Coast defender Emmanuel Eboue. The Ivorien was this morning slapped with a one year football ban by FIFA for refusing to pay his agent.

The former Arsenal defender, aged 32, was signed for the Black Cats earlier this month on a short-term deal until the end of the season.

But that contract has now been torn up after it emerged that the former Ivory Coast international will not be available to feature. Eboue has been banned by FIFA for 12 months for failing to pay his former agent.

He can return to action sooner than that if he pays an amount owed to his former agent Sébastien Boisseau. Eboue was initially ordered to pay the money in July 2013 and fined for failing to comply with the judgement in September 2014.

He subsequently appealed against the decision to the Court of Arbitration for Sport, but his appeal was dismissed. A statement released by Sunderland confirmed the players had two weeks in which to appeal against their decision to sack him.

Chibok Girls Not Missing- Fayose

Press statement from the Special Assistant to the Ekiti State Governor, Ayo Fayose, on Public Communications and New Media, Lere Olayinka
Ekiti State Governor, Ayodele Fayose, on Wednesday declared that no pupil was abducted by Boko Haram from Government Girls Secondary School, Chibok, Borno State. Over 200 pupils of the school were reportedly abducted in 2014 by the terror group. The governor said the report was politically motivated to influence public opinion against the Goodluck Jonathan administration ahead of the 2015 general elections.
Fayose spoke while declaring open a two-day workshop on “Political Aspirants Capacity Enhancement” organised by Women Arise for Change Initiative. It was organised for women from Ekiti, Osun and Ondo states.

He said, “Today, many opposition leaders are underground. I don’t think any of these girls is missing; it is a political strategy. Who is fooling who? If you wanted to use it to remove some people, you have succeeded already. “I don’t know if there are missing girls but no indication has shown that. It is a political strategy, because I don’t think any girl is missing. If they are missing, let them find them.” The governor also took a swipe at ‪#‎BringBackOurGirls‬ campaigners, saying some of them are using it to look for appointments.

He lamented that human rights groups had decided to keep quite since President Muhammadu Buhari came on board. Fayose said, “I’m concerned about the activities of human rights groups. Today the government of the day is obeying court order of their choice, while human rights are not respected. “We must talk about government providing cover for criminals. You are now using that person to harass innocent person. You will never have peace when you hide justice.” He added, “Police came into town yesterday (Tuesday) to arrest political opponents. If you like, demonise me, I will demonise you. I don’t need the police and the SSS (Department of State Services) to walk in my state. It is when you are not popular that you walk with police. “Any government that rises against me, that government will come down. I’m Peter the rock. By engaging me, you make me more popular and relevant and then court sympathy. I’m one person that is going places. That is why all these challenges are against me.” The governor urged women seeking elective offices to be loyal to their husbands.

The President of the initiative, Dr. Joe Okei-Odumakin, said the objective of the workshop was to enhance women political participation and their inclusion in decision making process by promoting female political aspirants and appointees. She said it was to encourage a more massive political mobilisation of women. She lamented that Nigerian women had not fully involved themselves in politics, despite the constitutional provisions giving them rights to political participation.

Minister Of Foreign Affairs, Geoffery Onyeama & US Secretary Of State, John Kerry, Hold Joint Press Conference

Nigeria's Minister of Foreign Affairs, Geoffery Onyeama and US Secretary of State, John Kerry, held a joint press conference at the White house yesterday March 30th where Kerry stated that the US wished Nigeria well. He said the US was particularly happy about the present fight against corruption. Kerry added that the US has never had a "Holier than thou" disposition to corruption matters as they have had their fair share of such acts too but that all hands must be on deck to fight corruption to a halt;

"The United States strongly supports the efforts of institutions like Nigeria’s Economic and Financial Crimes Commission to prosecute corruption cases. And we back the role of civil society and of the media in exposing corruption and in advocating for greater transparency. And we emphasize the message that the United States, in – that the United States, we don’t have a holier-than-thou attitude about this. Believe me, we don’t. We’ve had our own challenges with organized crime through some of our history, but we have fought back against it. And we have fought back against it with prosecutors who are above reproach, above the possibility of any kind of interference, and who go after it, and that has made all the difference in the world. You cannot have impunity in your culture – in anybody’s culture – and expect to be able to make progress. The truth is – and I’ve seen this as Secretary of State and it’s been an eye-opener for me – the numbers of countries in the world that are challenged today by corruption where it is stealing the future from young people, stealing the future from all citizens – what happened in Tunisia with a fruit vendor who set himself on fire was not the result of religious indoctrination. It was the result of an individual who rebelled against an individual act of corruption by a policeman and who said, “I’ve had enough.” So all of us need to heed the warning signs, and we emphasize that, as in the United States, the soliciting of a bribe at any level of government cannot be considered business as usual – it is a crime"he said

Man Accuses Lagos Police Officers Of Causing The Death Of His Pregnant Wife ri

A widower named Solomon Wilfred has accused the Lagos state police command of causing the death of his six weeks pregnant wife, Vivienne, on March 16th, the Nation reports.

Solomon who just got married to Vivienne in December last year, said his wife was arrested at the Apena market on March 15th over allegations of kidnapping a teenage girl. A woman identified as Chinwendu Udomadu had accosted the deceased with claims that the little girl she came to the market with, Perpetual Ucheweaku was one Osinachi Udomadu, her daughter, who had been missing since 2014.

The deceased denied the claims, stating that she was the guardian of the teenage girl and that she also knows the teenage girls parents. After much argument, police officers at the market arrested the women and took them to the station.

The Divisional Police Officer (DPO) at Akinpelu was said to have transferred the case to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) at Panti, Yaba, claiming that it was a criminal case which could not be handled at his station.

Solomon said his wife was detained in a cell while he wrote a statement. He said he begged to swap places with her since she was pregnant and “suffers stress induced seizures”.
“I told them she was pregnant and sick. I told them she had stress induced seizures, and I went upstairs to write the statement for me to swap places with her. But when I came back, they had thrown her into the cell. I even thought they put her behind the counter to wait for me to write the statement, but she was in the cell. Then I told them to release her because I already told them she was not feeling fine” he said.
Solomon said his wife died shortly after she was released the next day March 16th.

However the Lagos state police spokesperson, Dolapo Badmos, has denied his claim. According to Badmos, the deceased was never put in any cell.
"She was never put in the cell and she was released by the ACP SCID immediately her husband said she was six weeks pregnant and has health challenges. The ACP later called and told me that she has been informed the woman fainted at home and was rushed to the hospital where she passed on,” she said.
Badmos added that the the teenage girl and her alleged mother are to be subjected to a DNA test

“The police did nothing wrong in the matter. The suspects (Chinwendu and Chinemerem Udomadu) have been charged to court and the result of the DNA test is still being awaited.”she said

Lecturer Who Was Called Out For Harrassing Student Tells His Side Of The Story And Begs For Story To Be Taken Down...

Following the news of student harassment by a Uniabuja lecturer that broke out yesterday, TheNews.NG decided to reach out to parties involved and spoke on phone with both Mr Samuel Olorunfemi Adam and Miss Kemi Obaditan.

Mr Samuel Olorunfemi Adams side of the story:
TheNews.Ng got a phone call phone Mr Samuel Olorunfemi Adams asking them to take the story they published down as it was affecting his image, He also stated that many of his colleagues have been trying to reach him on the issue which is very embarrassing.

Here's an excerpt of the conversation between Mr Adams and TheNews.NG's correspondent Olawale Adeniyi

Mr Adams: Hello, good afternoon my name is Mr Samuel Olorunfemi Adams there's a story on your news platform stating that I harrassed a student of Uniabuja. The story is all lie, please i need you to take it down I am innocent.

TheNews.NG: Sir, we can't take the story down just like that, its against the ethics of balanced reporting, we need to speak to the two parties involved to ascertain that you are truly innocent. would you be willing to tell us your side of the story?

Mr Adams: Yes

TheNews.NG: please tell us exactly what happened?

Mr Adams: On the day the incident happened, I instructed students to move the next hall to write their exam every other student moved but she refused. she stated that i was a wicked lecturer and that she's heard a lot about me and that she was not going to move in the course of that her phone fell and broke.

TheNews.NG: She said you broke the phone?

Mr Adams: Here's what happened, she asked me to give her the phone and i insisted that she fill the exam malpractice booklet, she refused, she insulted my family, she said my family couldn't afford a Blackberry phone, this got me angry, so I smashed it on the ground.

TheNews.NG: Did you flog her with your belt?

Mr Adams: No I did not, I only tried to scare her with the belt and the belt mistakenly touch her. Then she jacked my collar.

TheNews.NG: Why did you insist that she fill an examination malpractices form since the offence she committed was not related to exam malpractice?

Mr Adams: You see in exam there are rules and regulations, she was given the form because she disobeyed a lecturer and it is against the school rule. I instructed her to leave the hall and go to the next hall but she refused, secondly she held my collar and it was her fellow students who rescued me from her.

TheNews.NG: But that is still not exam malpractice, why insist on an exam malpractice form?

Mr Adams: keeps mute

TheNews.NG: Peradventure you both meet in the court of law over this matter do you have any witness in your favour?

Mr Adams: I don't have witnesses i don't know any of the students, please I just visited your website the story is still there, when are you going to take it down?

TheNews.NG: We wont take it down until investigations into the case are concluded.

Here's an excerpt of the conversation between Kemi Obaditan and TheNews.NG's correspondent

TheNews.NG:  Can you tell us exactly what happened?

Kemi: On the 11th of December 2011 i came into school that morning to write a Chemistry examination scheduled to hold that day at 9am. The exam started at the time stated and while I sat in the hall assigned by my department for her students, Mr. Samuel Olorunfemi Adams came in to speak with the invigilator on duty while the answer booklet was being shared. He requested that half of the students should follow him upstairs to the main library where his own students who, at that time, were going to write a statistics course so he can shuffle us between them. Unfortunately, I was among those who had to move up with them. When I got upstairs I had a chair and did not have a table in the exam hall, hence I decided to go get a table. By the time I returned with the table, Mr. Samuel Olorunfemi Adams refused my entry into the exam hall.
I told him I was among the students he took from the hall downstairs to join his students.
My pleas fell on deaf ears until one of my colleague was able to help me pass my exam booklet and exam card to me.

TheNews.NG: Mr claim that he did not flog you that he only scared you with his belt that you were the one who locked him by the collar?

Kemi: thats's a lie, while I was begging him he lost his cool and pulled out his belt from his pants and began to flog me mercilessly. how could I have fought a man bigger than me?

TheNews.NG:  He claims he broke your phone because you insulted him?

Kemi: Thats not true, because I refused to fill the exam malpractices booklet Mr. Adams told me to take a last look at my phone and he smashed it on the ground to pieces. My colleagues who witnessed the incident gasped and he made sure he gave all of them -10 marks on their script. I have witnesses.

TheNews.NG:  Did you reach out to the school authority on the matter?

Kemi: Yes, after the incident my father wrote the school up copying the Vice Chancellor, Deputy Vice Chancellor and the Dean of Student Affairs that he would like them to look into my matter. I came into school on a Monday
morning and I was told to report to the Deans office for an emergency meeting. In the meeting, there was the Dean, Head of department, Head of examinations and a few other lecturers. I was still not granted a fair hearing. Instead, I was told and I quote “We know you know people, and your Dad is well connected, but if you want to graduate in this school you cannot fight your lecturer and win. You have to drop this case. I walked out with tears in my eyes and my heart was heavy with much pain. I felt the school failed me, the women in the meeting failed me even with the obvious bruises I had on my body. Afterwards, I did agree to drop the case because I wanted to graduate. I was frustrated throughout my four years in the university.

TheNews.NG: What do you want now?

I want justice to prevail for the sake of innocent students like myself who are constant victim of abuse by wicked lecturers.

After speaking to both parties involved, there are so many questions begging for answers.
1) Mr Adam claim that he broke her phone because she insulted him, a claim she denied. Even if she did, was he supposed to smash her phone?
2) Mr Adam denied flogging her, in his word " i only tried to scare her away with my belt then it touched her" How true is this statement
3) Why did Mr Adams and the authority insist that she fill an exam malpractice booklet when the alleged offence had nothing to do with exam malpractice

This and more questions are begging for answers. The world is watching, justice must prevail.

TheNews.ng reportage.

*In the beginning he also said the phone fell down and changed it to he broke it when she insulted him.I dont believe the Lecturer. One needs to attend the four walls to see what these lecturers are capable of doing. They can break ones spirit with their wickedness and sexual harrassment .IT MUST STOP!

Suicide Bomber Held In Cameroon Not One Of The Missing Chibok Schoolgirl - Chibok Parents

The Murtala Muhammed Foundation charged with the responsibility of identifying the female suicide bomber arrested in Cameroon who claimed she was one of the missing Chibok girls, has released a statement stating that leaders of the Chibok Parents association have refuted the claims.

Some of the authorised representatives of the community who were allowed to see photos of the girl, confirmed she is not among the girls kidnapped by Boko Haram from the Government Girls Secondary school on April 14th 2014. The statement reads;

"On Wednesday, March 30, three authorised representatives of the parents of the 219 missing Chibok girls arrived the Murtala Muhammed Foundation (MMF) offices from Chibok Local Government Area of Borno State to view photos of the girl claiming to be one of the 219 missing students kidnapped by Boko Haram. Mr. Yakubu Nkeki, chairman, Lawan Zana secretary, Mrs. Yana Galang women leader of the Chibok Girls Movement, all of whose children are amongst the kidnapped 219 Chibok girls were upon their arrival shown photos of the girl who was arrested along with another woman on Friday March 25th carrying explosives in Limani, Cameroon. A set of photographs had been sent to the MMF on the evening of Monday 28th of March by Garba Shehu, Special Assistant to the President on Media and Publicity. A more recent batch of photos, taken at 2pm on Tuesday 29th of March was sent to the MMF by Ambassador Hadiza Mustafa, Nigeria’s High Commissioner to Cameroon. ‎The earlier set of photos showed the girl partially clothed and squatting on the sandy floor within a low cement wall enclosure, which was surrounded by soldiers and some civilians. In that same batch, the woman was being carried in the arms of a soldier, with her face swollen and plaster covering different parts of her body. She was also partially clothed. In the more recent photos, however, the girl was fully clothed, standing against a wall and looking into the camera. The woman was also standing straight beside what appeared to be a hospital bed, she was fully-clothed. Her face still appeared slightly swollen with dressing on her forehead. The Nigerian government by Tuesday afternoon had already informed the MMF that the girl has clearly identified herself as Maryam Alhaji Wakeel, 12 years old, originally from Maiduguri but abducted from Bama when the town was overrun by Boko Haram a year ago. The woman has identified herself as Aishatu Usman, a 35-year-old mother of two children. However the identification process was still carried out to lay to rest any claims that the girl is one of the 219 girls kidnapped from their school in Chibok on April 14th 2014. Mr. Nkeki, Mallam Zana and Mrs. Galang have confirmed that the girl and the woman do not fit the description of any of the missing daughters from Chibok. We have also made arrangements for other stakeholders to view the photos at the MMF office in Abuja as we are yet to ascertain how the girl came to describe herself as one of the missing Chibok girls. The identity of the girl notwithstanding, the MMF has informed the Nigerian government of its willingness to continue to pursue the matter, and is willing to provide the captured girl and woman any support they may require. These girls and women are merely victims, and must be treated as such by the society. They have already undergone grave violence at the hands of their Boko Haram captors. We must ensure that they are not made to undergo additional violence at the hands of their compatriots. Nigerian government officials have informed the MMF that both Maryam Alhaji Wakeel and Aishatu Usman have been handed over to the Nigerian military this evening and are currently on their way back to Nigeria.”

Those Criticising The Kaduna Religious Bill Are Ignorant- El-Rufai

Kaduna state governor, Nasir El Rufai, says those criticizing the Kaduna Religious Regulation Bill are Ignorant. Speaking to newsmen in Kaduna on Tuesday March 29th, El Rufai said many of those crying foul about the bill have not read through it. He denied claims of having any ulterior motive by the introduction of the law.
‎"If you read that Bill, it is very short, it is 16 sections. Read it; tell me what you don’t like. Don’t say you don’t like the entire law because we know we have a problem and I am the governor and I need a solution. So don’t say the solution is not to have the law. Tell me what you don’t like about the Bill and we can discuss it. Tell me what is against your religion, we can discuss it.‎ Honestly, we do not have any ulterior motive other than to put a framework that will ensure Kaduna state citizens live in peace with every one practising his religion, but disallowing every Tom, Dick and Harry to come and say he can preach.”he said

The Chief of Air Staff, Air Marshal Sodique Abubakar, after commissioning a medical laboratory at the NAF 81 Maritime Group in Benin City, Edo State, vowed that the days of the Boko Haram sect in Nigeria were numbered adding that  provisions made for the Nigerian Air Force in the 2016 budget would improve its operations and completely defeat the terrorists.

“We are at the tail end of the war against Boko Haram. One of their enclaves, Alagarnu, has just been taken over. I was in the North-East a few days ago and I believe that we are at the tail end of this operation.” “The last time we came, we didn’t have a laboratory.
But today, we have a well equipped laboratory. Professionalism is not just about training and equipping the soldier but also taking care of the welfare of the soldier.

Columbus Short's Wife, Karrine Shorts Talks About His Drug Abuse And Asks Him To Seek Help

Couple of days ago, Karrine Short accused her husband, Columbus Short of cheating on her and made a video where she threw his things out then went on a social media rant where she asked his gfs to come take him. He went on Siruis FM where he granted an interview yesterday and talked about what happened in his marriage and talked about he had been homeless before but that it would never happen again and how he was going to move on with his life. Well, she read what he wrote and listened to his interview. She shared a their marriage certificate and wrote this:

karrineandco: IN RESPONSE TO STATEMENTS MADE BY @officialcshort ON SIRIUS RADIO: Drug and alcohol addiction is a serious issue that affects families and marriages worldwide. It breeds violence and lies, resentment and hate. It hurts. I love my husband and as always, I will and do forgive him for all his poor decisions. Some addicts refuse treatment at the urging of family and friends when done in private, and only seek help when brought to task publicly--when the public charade has been unveiled. Sometimes, this is the only way to save a life. My husband's issues have been public knowledge for years, and yes, I chose love him anyway. It is my sincerest hope that @officialcshort gets the professional help he needs and I will be there to support him when or if he does. With or without this license, he is my husband. As embarrassing and humiliating as this time is, it may be necessary. No radio interview he gives can negate the facts. There are photos, audio and police records that point to the truth, all of which I keep closely guarded. My hope is that I never feel the need to defend myself publicly against his public rants, accusations, half truths, and lies, for these are the traits of an addict and those dealing with mental illness. He is a wonderful man. He truly is. But even the greatest of men lose their way when substances are involved. I pray I can find the high road and take it, now. I will not disparage him any further. It has been difficult to keep private matters private when I have been afraid for my physical well-being time and time again. Some secrets kill in more ways than one. But, there is help available to us. I choose to take the help and I am praying he finally does the same. My love stands, no matter what he says and does. Thank you to all who have supported us and I apologize for our public displays. They're gross. But there is a sickness here that needs to be healed and prayer alone hasn't been enough. @officialcshort, I love you and I hope to see you on the other side of this. I hope we are stronger and better as individuals, no matter the state of our union. Be well.

He then stated that: “There will be no more collection of driver’s licence by proxy; prospective applicants will have to come by themselves and be captured to avoid obtaining fake license.
“Also, fresh applicants must obtain permit from an approved driving school and undergo all necessary processes before they will be issued the document,” Oyeyemi said.

He said the issue of integrity of driver’s licence was raised when the corps visited the National Assembly recently, assuring that the corps was poised to tackle the issue of fake licence.
According to Oyeyemi, the workshop is to review the first quarter operations of the corps and address the issue of driver’s licence.

He said the corps, for the first time, recorded lowest cases of road traffic accidents during the Easter.
He attributed this to adequate deployment of personnel and equipment during the period.
Oyeyemi advised motorists and other road users to continue to collaborate with the commission in efforts to reduce road crashes.

Promising Young Woman Who Was UN Secretary-General For A Day In 2014 Dies

Raquelina Fernando Langa, the promising young woman who came to New York in 2014 to spend a day as UN Secretary-General with Ban Ki-moon passed away on March 25, 2016.

In a tribute, Mr. Ban expressed his deep personal condolences, saying: "While her life was short, her legacy will be long. Raquelina was more than a teenager from Mozambique; she was the embodiment of why the world needs to invest in the health, well-being and future of young women everywhere.

With her passionate drive and expansive heart, she achieved a depth of character that most people, no matter their age, may never attain."

Raquelina was a young Mozambican woman, then in grade 10, who in May 2013, during a visit by UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-Moon to her school, Matheus Samsão Muthemba School in Polana Caniço, Maputo, Mozambique, asked, if "a girl could become Secretary-General" and, if so, what she needed to do to achieve that goal. Impressed by the question, Mr. Ban invited her to come to UN Headquarters in New York as his special guest for a day. Sponsored by UN Women, the visit materialized on 12 August 2014, International Youth Day.

"We would like to convey our condolences institutionally, and personally, for those who knew Raquelina," said Florence Raes, UN Women Representative in Mozambique. "We will continue to honour her memory by pursuing her dream, bringing about broader access to education for girls as well as secure environments free of violence, so that any girl—whether vulnerable, disenfranchised or from the south—could aspire to one day be the United Nations Secretary-General.
