Michael Jackson's Children Face Losing 900m Inheritance Due To Debt

The late king of pop's children, Prince, 19, Paris, 17, and Blanket, 14, were due to inherit £900 million when they turn 30 but tax authorities in America are chasing the late singer’s estate for £555 million and it is believed that MJ owes more than £300m in additional debts which are yet to be cleared...

According to MirrorUK;

Micheal Jackson's children’s £900 million inheritance could be drastically slashed.
Big bills mean that Prince, 19, Paris, 17, and Blanket, 14, could see the money and their trust funds, which they reportedly have access to at 30, wiped out.

Insiders have reportedly claimed tax authorities in America are chasing the late singer’s estate for £555 million, while the late singer is believed to owe more than £300 million in other debts.
“On paper the kids are billionaires thanks to these massive sums. But the truth is those sums will barely be in their accounts for any time as they have this huge tax bill to settle," a source told The Sun.
“The IRS (Internal Revenue Service) had been public about their demand asking for as much as £555 million, with more charges coming for late payments."
The singer's stake in Sony/ATVMusic Publishing was recently sold for $750m (£526m), after he originally paid $41.5 for the rights.

It's thought the tax on the deal will total roughly £70 million.
The source added:
“The estate has challenged that enormous figure, but the Sony deal simply ups the amount they owe.
The huge property and grounds went on the market in 2015 but so far hasn't managed to tempt buyers with its $100m price tag. Michael bought the property in 1987 for $19.5m.However in 2008 it was handed over to investment firm Colony Capital LLC after the Thriller star ran into financial troubles.
Following his death in 2009, the ranch fell into disrepair

After 25 Years …Female Talking Drummer Ara Is Releasing Her First Album

Unbelievable as it sounds, popular female musician/talking drummer Aralola Olumuyiwa aka Ara is set to drop her first album.

Speaking on why it has taken her 25 years to put together this album, Ara told The Nation:

“Twenty five years down the lane I met my former record label boss whom I thought was the best thing that would ever happen to me. He gave me a platform that I will forever be grateful for but I was locked up from the entire world, I wasn’t allowed to make friends even my own family members couldn’t reach me because I was brain washed and by the time I realized what was happening to me and I decided to run my life was threatened.

I was with that management for seven years and I have recorded in several countries including Paris, US, and Ghana but all efforts to bring out an album proved abortive.

So this is the first one and I can tell you it’s been a battle both spiritual and physical and I thank God this album is going to be released at last”.

Titled Ara De, the album will have 20 tracks and will feature appearances from the likes of 2Baba and Pasuma. It is expected to drop before the end of second quarter of the year with production credits from ace music producers Puffy T, Ty Mix, and Wole Oni.

Electricity “Is No Longer A Laughing Matter” Buhari Promises to “Put A Stop To Power Shortages”

Abuja, March 21, 2016 (NAN) President Muhammadu Buhari said on Monday that his administration would ensure steady power supply before the expiration of his tenure through the provision of additional 10,000 megawatts.

The President gave the assurance at the National Economic Council Retreat holding at the Presidential Banquet Hall, Abuja.

According to him, 2,000 of the anticipated 10,000 megawatts will be added to the national grid in 2016.

Nigerians’ favourite talking point and butt of jokes is the power situation in our country. But, it is no longer a laughing matter.

We must and by the grace of God we will put things right.

In the three years left for this administration we have given ourselves the target of 10,000 megawatts distributable power.

In 2016 alone, we intend to add 2,000 megawatts to the national grid.

In our determination to change we must and will, Insha Allah, put a stop to power shortages.’’

The President, who stated that the nation was facing the classic dilemma of privatisation of the power sector, noted that no remarkable improvement in the quality of service had been recorded after the exercise.

He, however, stated that the National Electricity Regulatory Commission (NERC) must ensure that consumers get value for money and over-all public interest is safe-guarded as government will complete the process of the privatisation.

Buhari further gave assurance that government will hasten the completion of pipelines from gas points to power stations.

He said that more security to protect gas and oil pipelines would be provided while power companies should be encouraged to replace obsolete equipment and improve the quality of service and technicians.

He maintained that the companies must also address the problem of high electricity bills in spite constant power cuts.

On the manufacturing sub-sector, President Buhari expressed regret over the inability of some industries in the country to obtain foreign exchange to import raw materials and spare parts.

“Painful though this is, I believe it is a temporary phase which we shall try to overcome but there are deeper, more structural problems bedevilling local industries which this retreat should identify short and long-term answers to.”

President Buhari, who also spoke on current state of the nation’s agriculture, noted that for too long government policies on agriculture had been “half-hearted, suffering from inconsistencies and discontinuities.”

He, therefore, stressed the need for urgent government action to ensure self-sufficiency in food production.

According to him, the nation’s real wealth lies in farming, livestock, hatcheries, fishery, horticulture and forestry.

The President directed the Federal Ministry of Agriculture to convene early meeting of stakeholders and identify problems facing the agricultural sector with a view to addressing them.

He also urged the media to enlighten the public on government’s efforts towards increasing local food production so as to bring down food prices in the markets.

President Buhari called on state governments and commercial banks to provide more incentives to small holder and medium scale farmers to boost agricultural activities.

Banks should be leaned upon to substantially increase their lending to the agricultural sector.

Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) should bear part of the risk of such loans as a matter of national policy.

States should increase their financial support through community groups.

The appropriate approach should be through leaders of community groups such as farmers’ cooperatives.

Provision of feeder roads by state governments to enable more effective evacuation of produce to markets and processing factories.’’

He recalled the 1950s, when Nigeria’s foreign exchange earners were from the export of groundnuts, cotton, cocoa, palm kernel, rubber and all agro/forest resources.

He further stated that regional banks and development corporations in all the three regions were financed fro

Man Strangles Pregnant Ex-Girlfriend To Death After She Reports Him To Taxman

24 year old Matthew Smith strangled his pregnant ex girlfriend and mother of his 2 children, Isobel 'Becky' Parker, 23, in the bathroom of her home in Burnham-on-Crouch, Essex, after discovering his tax credits had been stopped because he thought she reported him to the taxman.

After he killed her with cable ties wound tightly around her neck, he sent a text message to her younger sister, which read: "By the time you get there it will be too late."
When Sarah asked him where he was, he replied: "We all know it is too late for that."
Out of fear for Becky's safety, her distraught sister ran to her home only to find Becky strangled to death in the tub.
Police were called and Smith was arrested on the suspicion of murder. Smith admitted to killing Becky, who was six months' pregnant with another man's baby. But said he was out of his mind when he did it.

During the trial, the jury heard how Becky, a former restaurant worker, had been in a relationship with Smith for at least six years but had left him after she met someone else. Smith took the break very badly but got around to accepting that Becky had moved on. She got pregnant almost immediately after meeting the man last year.

Just over two weeks before her death, Becky had contacted the taxman to report a change in circumstances within the household and to tell them that Smith had moved out.
As a result, it was calculated that Smith had been overpaid by £1,527.21 in tax credits - which needed to be repaid - since he left the family home just after Christmas in 2014.

The prosecutor, Mr Caudle told the court:
"According to Shane Anderson [Becky's new boyfriend], the defendant was always trying to get Becky to go out with him and his family despite her telling him repeatedly that the relationship was over and there was no more him and her.
"In Shane's view, the defendant did not want to see Becky happy and was very jealous."
Mr Caudle added: "He [Smith] tightened cable ties to her neck to a degree that they could not be seen and he murdered her.
"Maybe because of jealousy that she was pregnant with a new boyfriend, maybe that combined with she had told taxman he was no longer around and he no longer had tax credits, we don't know."

Smith was sentenced to life in prison but he showed no emotion when they handed the sentence to him.
