CBN Sacks Management Of Skye Bank Over Capital Adequacy Issues, Takes Over The Management Of The Bank For The Main Time




The Central Bank of Nigeria today sacked the management team of Skye Bank over capital adequacy issues. The bank's top executives on getting wind of their impending sack, resigned en-mass this morning. The bank's Chairman, Tunde Ayeni and its Managing Director, led other executive and non-executive board members to tender their resignation before the apex bank announced the dissolution of the bank's management team this afternoon.

CBN will manage the affairs of the bank for some time. The bank, according to financial experts, has been distressed for a while.

Governor Udom Allegedly Ordered The Demolition Of A Thatched House Belonging To A 90-Year-Old Man



A thatched house belonging to a 90-year-old man in Awa Iman, was allegedly demolished on the order of Akwa Ibom State Governor, Udom Emmanuel. Awa Iman is the countryhome of the governor. According to Ray Ugba Morphy, who shared the photos,

"the thatched house was pulled down to provide an expanse of land for the construction of a Visitor's parking lot for the newly constructed mansion of the Governor in his hometown. It was gathered that the 90year old man who has been crying over the loss of his house is now putting up on the veranda of one of a Pentecostal Churches in Awa iman in Onna Local Government."

Twitter Suspends Militant Group - Niger Delta Avengers' Account



The Twitter account of Militant Group - Niger Delta Avengers has been suspended today. Before the suspension, the account was used by the avengers to inform the public of their actions and strikes against oil installations in the Niger Delta area.

591 Recruits Graduated From The Nigerian Air Force Ground Training Centre Over The Weekend


A total of 591 recruits passed out over the weekend from the Nigerian Air Force Ground Training Centre, Kaduna having successfully completed their initial 6-month military training. The new entrants into the Nigerian Air Force constitute the Basic Military training course 35/2016, have all been assigned specialist trades and posted to NAF formations across the country pending the time they would be programmed for specialist training.


Addressing the recruits during their passing out parade attended by Governor of Kaduna State, Mallam Nasir Ahmad El-Rufai, the Chief of the Air Staff (CAS), Air Marshal Sadique Baba Abubakar urged the recruits to brace up for the challenges ahead in their call to duty. He informed the passing out recruits that military service is not just a means of livelihood, but a clarion call to serve the fatherland, and which sometimes may require making the supreme sacrifice.
