Ali Ndume, the Nigerian Senate Leader has disclosed that elites are the ones sabotaging the administration of President Muhammadu Buhari.Speaking with Daily Trust newsmen yesterday, Ndume said the angry elites were militating against President Buhari’s moves to turn around the country’s economy from the mess left by previous administrations. He said there was a deliberate attempt by elites angry with Buhari’s war against corruption, to set the masses against this administration.
The Senate leader blamed the elites for the hardship Nigerians are facing especially the rising prices of food stuffs.
“If not for the saboteurs, Nigerians would have been reaping the dividend of electing President Buhari. Otherwise, what has the fall of naira to do with the price of millet, tomatoes and other locally produced commodities? It is understandable that the price of imported rice is affected,” he said.
Ndume called on Nigerians to be patient, saying the APC government was trying hard to improve the living conditions of the people and turn things around for good.
Two weeks ago, Chief John Oyegun, the national chairman of the APC said some people had been compromised and were sabotaging Buhari’s government.
It appears this administration has a powerful group of saboteurs to contend with. These saboteurs are everywhere, in oil, power and education sectors.
These group of people have been blamed for most of the things going wrong in the society, most especially the 2016 budget saga. As a result, Buhari reportedly ordered the complete purgeof the Budget Office following the discrepancies, errors and padding of the budget.
